Hot tub ozonators and ozone parts

An ozonator feeds ozone gas into the water to reduce how much sanitizer you need. Most units last 2 to 5 years. Match a replacement by voltage (120V or 240V) and the plug that fits your control box, and replace the check valve and tubing at the same time so water cannot run back into the new unit.

We're still adding these to the store. Ask AskTub which part you need and we'll point you to it.

Questions

How do I know my ozonator is still working?

Look for a steady stream of fine bubbles from the ozone jet or return during the filter cycle, and check the unit's indicator light if it has one. Ozone test kits are also available.

Do I still need chlorine or bromine with ozone?

Yes. Ozone does not leave a lasting residual in the water, so you still need a measurable sanitizer level, usually at the lower end of the range.

Can a bad ozonator trip the GFCI?

Yes. A failing ozone unit, or one that has taken on water through a bad check valve, is a common cause of intermittent GFCI trips.
